Forest School leaders must have an understanding of, and experience in, planning and delivering Forest School programmes. They understand the history of the development of the Forest School ethos. They understand the ecological impact of a Forest School programme on their own site and use this to develop a management plan for its sustainable use. They create a Forest School handbook containing relevant policies and procedures. They know how to assess the impact of Forest School on individual participants. They evaluate individual sessions and carry out a summative review of a group of sessions using the outcome to support future planning.
