Job description: The Hive is an exciting new start-up running live outdoor gaming missions for kids aged 6-11.
Rooted in experiential learning, our missions help children challenge themselves in nature through outdoor experimentation and thrills, bushcraft, wildlife exploration and plant growing.
In summer 2014, we’ll be running 6 weeks of day camps at Eltham College, in South East London.
For this, we’re looking for an energetic Forest School Lead, someone who loves working with kids, understands the power of play and gets excited about delivering the richest outdoors experience for the children.
• As the Forest School Lead, you will lead the weekly Hive mission and empower the kids to succeed.
• You will enjoy building team spirit and developing individual relationships with the children.
• You will be able to share some basic bushcraft techniques to the children: fire making and tracking.
• You’ll appreciate the opportunity to use mobile education gaming technology.
• You’ll enjoy leading a committed and creative team of facilitators.
Person specification :
You will need:
• Some experience of delivering Forest School and bushcraft experiences to primary school children
• Some experience of leading a team of facilitators
• A high energy outlook with an instinctive understanding of what makes children tick
• An ability to be very organised and assertive, earning respect from the children
• A basic level of experience of using tablet and mobile technology
