Job description: Ardingly College is seeking to appoint an experienced Forest School practitioner to join their thriving Pre-Prep School.
The successful applicant will provide Forest School activities for children from 2 to 7 years of age, during the school day. In addition, there is an expectation that the post holder will provide an After School Club twice a week for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Candidates should have experience working with and understanding children of Pre-Prep school age. Good communication and organisational skills and a positive and caring personality are also essential for this role
Person specification: Ideally candidates will hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Forest School and be familiar with delivery and assessment of quality Outdoor Learning provision. We will also consider applications from Teaching Assistants who are interested in becoming a Forest School Leader. For the right candidate, we will support training and development for this role.
We are seeking to appoint a person who is self-motivated, enthusiastic and a good communicator, to encourage, support, guide and Forest school, and outdoor learning within our Pre-Prep School. They must be passionate about developing outdoor learning in children and be able to articulate the benefits this gives.
Any other information: The hours of this role are offered flexibility to find the right candidate. Ideally, candidates should be able to work a minimum of two full days. Normal working hours would be 9 am to 5 pm, for 35 weeks per year (during term-time only plus one additional week). Attendance is required at three INSET days throughout the year, prior to the beginning of each term.
The full-time equivalent salary is £23,669 per annum, inclusive of 4.2 weeks paid holiday.
