Job Description:: Due to success in our current programmes we are seeking to expand our team and recruit an additional outdoor play/forest school practitioner who can supplement our delivery in Bradford and Keighley.  We are looking for a friendly, dedicated and proactive individual who enjoys working with children and can share their love of outdoor play and nature with people from a range of backgrounds.The Practitioner will run regular, accessible and engaging free forest school and outdoor play activities in parks, woodlands and outdoor spaces in the areas of Bradford and Keighley.

Person Specification: : Essential criteria

  • Skilled and experienced level 3 qualified outdoor play/forest school practitioner with a passion for working in the outdoors and enthusiasm to share it with others
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
  • Enjoy working with children (including very young children on the Better Start Bradford project) from a range of backgrounds and commitment to supporting their physical, social and emotional development through outdoor play/forest school activities
  • Experience of working with hard to reach families
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in a range of age-appropriate outdoor activities including games and crafts, and able to share skills in line with good practice, policies and procedures
  • A good communicator, friendly and polite and able enthuse and motivate others
  • Good planning and organisational skills and able to work to deadlines
  • Proactive at prioritising, problem solving and getting things done
  • Have access to own transport to reach settings
  • Able to use judgement and intellect to work on own initiative
  • Friendly and polite with excellent people skills and a sense of humour
  • A team player with a willingness to work co-operatively within communities
  • Committed to Get Out More’s vision and the success of the venture

Desirable criteria : Forest School Level 3 qualification including up to date Outdoor First Aid qualification
