This is a useful free standing den design for sites that may be limited in naturally occurring den resources. Be aware! You may find yourself choosing your own Christmas tree based on how well it keeps its needles with a mind to filling in a den wall rather than needle drop in your house. Follow the photo’s for a step by step explanation. I hope this will be useful.

 All you need is the tree trunk, some sticks, the Christmas tree branches and maybe some blankets |

 Take one Christmas Tree, decorations removed and stored in the attic. |
 Remove the side branches, but leave the first (top) whorl in place. |
 Lash two sticks together(Hazel is a good choice),
then rest the trunk on the knot. |
 Add some sticks, sort of the ribs against the tree trunk spine, creating the den wall support.

 Start filling in the walls with the Christmas tree branches.
