Children’s Forest & Jo McAndrews- The Sustainability Question
- Saturday 9.15 Main Marquee
This session will be led by Jo McAndrews and a member of the Children’s Forest team. Jo McAndrews is a trained psychotherapist who is passionate about supporting community resilience in the face of climate change with a particular urgency about the needs of children and young people for good adult support. She works with parents, educators and environmental groups to enable a knowledgeable and empowered approach to support children in very tough times. Children’s Forest is is a movement that inspires and enables children to plant healthy forests. They believe there has never been a more pressing time to engage children in meaningful action in the face of social isolation and climate crisis and have a very successful staged process of engagement in tree planting projects.
In this session we will explore and discuss the question How do we support children & participants in these changing times and allow them a positive vision of the future? We will encourage the audience to engage in this discussion and we should be joined by other guests with knowledge in these areas. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to further areas of discussion on sustainability throughout the weekend. Both Children’s Forest and Jo will be providing follow up workshops to explore their topics further.
