Forest bathing is the practice of immersing yourself in nature in a mindful way. Using your senses and being in awareness has a range of proven benefits for physical, mental and spiritual health. The idea took birth in Japan in the 1980s where it is known as ‘Shinrin-Yoku’.
In the busy hubbub of the modern world, it can be easy to get lost in the stresses of day-to-day life. Forest bathing can help balance our nervous systems and restore our inner peace.
During this webinar we will be exploring:
· Brief History of Forest Bathing
· Research of its benefits
· Example Forest Bathing practices
· How Forest Bathing can help us as practitioners and how practices can be used within Forest School
Before the session, please go for a walk outdoors, ideally in a familiar woodland environment and take notice of the small things on the ground that appeal to you. Collect about a dozen of them and bring them along to the webinar.
This ‘In the Thicket Webinar’, is a topical presentation with an expert and a short Q and A session at the end.
