We are now calling for those committed to the continuing growth of ‘quality forest school for all’ in the UK to stand as directors on the FSA board.
Applications (including hard copies) must be received by 25th September 2013
Positions are available to all FSA members including current directors (unless they are disqualified from holding a directorship, they have previously been a director of the FSA and the requirement to attend at least one board meeting during the past year has not been met, or else have failed to adhere to all of our organisation’s governing documents and legal obligations (the FSA Professional Code of Conduct, Memorandum and Articles, the legal requirements and responsibilities of a Director as directed by Companies House in the Companies Act 2006).
If you are interested in standing, please find more information in the documents below. There are four positions on the board with additional responsibilities. These are Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer, and Company Secretary. Role descriptions are provided. Please indicate if you are ALSO interested in standing for ONE of these positions.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.

Please note – it is the individual`s responsibility to check their application has been received.
The board will be putting forward a motion to reduce the size of the board of directors from 21 to 12. This is for various reasons but mostly because each director has a legal responsibility for the running of the organisation and 21 is too many to ensure that everyone is involved on a day to day basis. Instead, they will be proposing that the smaller board take on the responsibility for day to day operations and decision making that the 7 person Exec currently does. However, we will still invite people (both members and non members, with appropriate skills) onto an advisory group that can guide the board on certain matters as they arise. Of course this all prejudges the outcome of the proposed resolution that will be put to members prior to the AGM.
