We run a popular programme of holiday forest schools in West Yorkshire. We welcome volunteers to support the forest school leaders facilitating engaging, inclusive child-led programmes with children aged 5-11 years. We are running programmes throughout the school holidays (28 July – 27 August) at beautiful woodlands in Bingley, Saltaire and Dewsbury and seek volunteers to support the committed team of forest school leaders. We can offer a great working environment, support with skills development and understanding of forest school practice, volunteer expenses and where applicable and possible, a free place for your child on the programme.
Person specification: We welcome volunteers who:
- Have a keen interest in forest schools
- Enjoy working with children
- Are prompt, helpful and supportive
- Are professional and able to adhere to Get Out More’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding, Health and Safety and other policies
- Will enjoy being part of a positive and committed team
We require volunteers to have a currrent DBS check (less than 3 years old). If prospective volunteers do not have this we can apply for one only if there is enough time to process it before the start of the programme.
All the dates of the summer forest schools are on Get Out More’s website Events page. Volunteers are welcome to volunteer for 1+ days, but preferably for a full 2 or 3 day programme.
