They now appear on the public map and database of FSA recognised providers
“Ellel St John School is delighted to become a Forest School Provider – and one of the very first in the country! It means a lot to us to be recognised as a provider. The assessment was reassuringly rigorous – we welcomed that because we believe that if something is worth having, it’s worth working for! It also requires annual renewal – which will make sure that we reflect on our practice and continually try to enhance and improve our provision.
We are passionate about Forest School at Ellel. Each class has 6 weeks of Forest School each year, for 6 years – making a truly long-term commitment. We are out in all weathers and all seasons – climbing trees, cooking on the fire, playing in the trees (and the mud) and learning new skills. Our Forest School is child centred and follows the needs of our children – emotional, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and cultural. Forest School makes a huge difference to the health, happiness and achievements of our children.” Corinne Singleton (Forest School Leader at Ellel St John School)
