Directors

Post I would like to apply for this post on the FSA Board  (please tick)
Director – Company Secretary
Director – Treasurer
Director – Without Portfolio ü

Please tell us a bit about yourself (max 500 words), including;

  • Why you are standing for FSA directorship?

As a founding member of the FSA and the Forest School Special Interest Group (SIG) before it, I still believe in the transformative potential of ‘Forest School’ and would like to continue to support it. The FSA is still a young organisation and needs to be given more of a chance to establish itself and bloom to promote quality Forest School for all!

  • Your Forest School experience (and this is not necessarily a pre requisite but you will need to have some basic working knowledge of Forest School)

For the last 6 years I have run FS training.

From 2007 – 2014 I co ordinated Forest School for Norfolk County Council.

I trained as a Level 3 FS practitioner in 2004 and have run various FS programmes with different client groups, including:

  • 3 year programme with Looked After Children aged 14-18years
  • 2 year programme for primary sector (all age groups Year R – 6 in 3 different sessions a week) in a small rural Primary school.

Various smaller mini-programmes:

  • 12 week taster programme with secondary pupils (14-16 years) with SEN
  • 6 week taster programmes with EYs
  • 12 week after school club (primary KS 2)

And various info/taster days with parents, families, staff, school clusters etc

  • How you personally can benefit the FSA.

I am passionate about Forest School as a philosophy and believe that it is worth fighting for in the confused world that we find ourselves in.

As well as Forest School, I have experience in a range of other Outdoor Learning approaches and originally trained as an ecologist.

Please declare any special interests or affiliations with other organisations in the Forest School sector including commercial, public sector or voluntary.

I am a training provider and trade under the banner of FSTC.
